With more than 25 years of experience in the financial field with significant roles and achievements in banking institutions for 10 years starting Egyptian American Bank and industrial companies for 15 years. He spent 9 years in Egyptian Steel Group as Senior Planning Executive director and during the same period was also part of the founding team of Egyptian Cement Company. Prior to that, he spent 5 years at Lafarge as the Regional controller for Special Projects – Middle East and Africa for 3 years and Deputy Regional Business Controller for North Africa for 2 years in addition to one year as Head of Planning at OCI – Cement Sector.
Sherif El-Etreby has been actively involved in major acquisitions and divestments within the cement and steel sector in the Middle East and Africa. Notable transactions include the acquisition of Lafarge by Orascom Construction Industries – Cement Sector in 2008, the sale of a portion of Egyptian Steel Group to Ezz El-Dekheila Steel Co. in 2021 and the divestment of shares in Egyptian Cement company to existing shareholders in 2023.
